Oh, what joy I feel in Jesus,

Oh! que gozo sinto em Jesus,

Who died for me upon the cross;

Que por mim expirou na cruz;

He gave my soul divine light,

A minh’alma deu divina luz,

How much glory I see in Jesus,

Quanta glória vejo em Jesus,

Holy joy and blessed light,

Gozo santo e bendita luz,

Whose rays shine from the cross,

Cujos raios brilham lá na cruz,

Where Jesus died.

Na qual ,morreu Jesus.

I always want to press onward,

Sempre avante quero eu andar,

Until I reach heaven.

Té no céu chegar.

Now I am free from sin;

Livre do pecado já estou,

He brought me out of the abyss,

Do abismo me retirou,

And set me upon the eternal Rock;

Sobre a rocha eterna me firmou;

Jesus has given me divine praise,

Divinal louvor Jesus me deu;

A harmony that comes from heaven;
