Conversion - 15
Oh, how blindly I walked,
And wandered lost,
Far, far away
From my Savior!
But He came down from heaven,
And shed His blood
To save
Such a poor sinner.
It was at the cross,
It was at the cross,
Where one day I saw
My sin punished in Jesus;
It was there,
By faith,
That my eyes were opened,
And now I rejoice
In His light.
I had heard
Of that matchless grace
That Jesus brought
From heaven;
But I made myself deaf,
I would not turn
To the Lord,
Who died for me
Upon the cross.
But one day
I felt my sin,
And saw
The sword of the Law
Over me.
I quickly fled,
I hid myself in Jesus,
And found
A safe refuge in Him.
How happy, then,
Was my heart,
Knowing
His perfect love,
Which led my Jesus
To suffer on the cross
To save
Such a poor sinner.
