To Calvary, Jesus alone went,

Ao Calvário, só Jesus se transportou

Bearing the heavy cross,

Levando pesada cruz,

And dying there, He left for mortal man

E morrendo, lá p’ra o mortal deixou,

A beacon of glorious light.

Um fanal de gloriosa luz.

By the cross to heaven I shall go;

Pela cruz ao céu irei;

By the cross I shall follow

Pela cruz eu seguirei

To the home of peace and eternal love;

Pare o lar de paz e eterno amor

By the cross to heaven I shall go.

Pela cruz ao céu irei.

Only at the cross, the thirsty soul shall find

The fountain of inspiration;

A fonte de Inspiração;

And there the burden of pain shall fall;

E ali o fardo de dor cairá;

At Calvary, there is salvation.

No Calvário, há salvação.

By the cross I shall go to the heavenly mansion.

Pela cruz irei à mansão celestial.

The course is marked out,

O rumo marcado está,

In my dark life it shall be the beacon;

Em minha vida obscura será o fanal;

In its light my soul shall go.

Em sua luz minha alma irá.
