Oh, what precious memories

Oh! que saudosa lembrança

I have of you, O Zion,

Tenho de ti, ó Sião,

Land that I love so much,

Terra que eu tanto amo,

For you are in my heart.

Pois és do meu coração.

To you I shall fly

Eu para ti voarei,

When my Lord returns;

Quando o Senhor meu voltar;

For He went to heaven,

Pois Ele foi para o céu,

And soon He will come to take me.

E breve vem me buscar.

Yes, I will press on toward that land beyond;

Sim, eu porfiarei por essa terra de além;

And there I will end the many struggles of this life.

E lá terminarei as muitas lutas de aquém;

There is my good Lord,

Lá está meu bom Senhor, ao qual eu desejo ver;

Whom I long to see;

Ele é tudo p’ra mim, e sem Ele não posso viver.

He is everything to me,

And without Him I cannot live.

Bela, mui bela, é a esperança,

Dos que vigiam por ti,

Beautiful, so beautiful, is the hope

Pois eles recebem força,

Of those who watch for you,

Que só se encontra ali;

For they receive strength

Os que procuram chegar

That is found only there;

Ao teu regaço, ó Sião,

Those who seek to reach

Livres serão de pecar

Your embrace, O Zion,

E de toda a tentação.

Will be free from sin

And from every temptation.

Diz a Sagrada Escritura,

Que são formosos os pés

The Holy Scriptures declare

Daqueles que boas novas

How beautiful are the feet

Levam para os infiéis;

Of those who bring the good news

E, se tão belo é falar

To the unbelievers;

Dessas grandezas, aqui,

And if it is so wonderful

Que não será o gozar

To speak of these glories here,

A graça que existe ali!

How much greater it will be

To enjoy the grace that is there!
