In the darkest night, without Christ was I,

Em escuridão, sem Jesus, me vi,

Full of sorrow, grief, and pain;

Com mil penas e grande dor;

Then said Jesus, "Come, yes, come to Me,

Mas Jesus chamou: "Vem, sim, vem a Mim,

I will be your Savior."

Quero ser teu Salvador".

In my soul there reigns sweet peace;

Na minh ‘alma reina paz;

Since I came to Christ, my Lord;

Desde que vim a Jesus;

Now I always know

Tenho sempre paz

Peace and joy divine,

E gozo mui veraz.

For I have beheld God's light!

Pois avistei de Deus, a luz!

Through the mighty waves of misery,

Pelas grandes ondas da perdição,

On the restless sea I sailed,

Fui cercado no alto mar,

Without any pilot in the storm,

Sem ter um piloto no furacão,

Who could safely guide my way.

Que pudesse me guiar.

If you find yourself in bitter strife,

E se te encontrares a pelejar,

Without help to make you strong,

Sem auxilio ter eficaz,

Call upon the Savior, do not delay,

Clama ao Salvador, clama sem tardar,

His grace is ever true.
