At Pentecost it came to pass
What Jesus had foretold,
For suddenly from heaven above
A mighty wind was blown,
It came and filled the whole house,
And every heart with mighty power.
Power, power, Pentecostal power.
Oh, come and set us all aflame,
Also renew us;
Oh, come, yes, come, O holy flame divine,
Baptize Your servants.
Upon each one there came to rest
The precious Light,
The Teacher who had come to dwell
With Jesus' servants;
It was the holy fire of the Lord,
Which filled them with His strength.
And they began to speak,
Filled with power,
In other tongues to magnify
The One who sent
The precious gifts of His great love
And His consoling power.
And whoever desires to receive
This living, healing water,
Which is promised to the one who believes
And humbly waits,
Persevering in prayer,
Shall have power in the heart.
