The Beautiful Jerusalem - 26
How glorious it is,
Christian,
To think about
The city
Unlike any other,
Where the walls
Are of pure jasper,
And the streets
Of gold and crystal.
Think how glorious
It will be
To see
The triumphant multitude,
Singing
As they await
The arrival
Of those who overcome
The tribulation.
Think how glorious
It will be
To see
The river
Of life and light,
Whose banks,
Covered with lilies,
Reflect
The glory
Of our Jesus.
There will be
An everlasting dawn,
For God Himself
Will be its light;
And the Lamb,
With His Bride,
Will shine
Day and night.
Think of
The heavenly melody
That will fill
The land of Beulah;
And the sweet harmony
Of the harps
Will be heard
As we cross
The Jordan.
Even in suffering
That leads to death,
Remain faithful,
Do not turn back;
Your inheritance,
Your eternal destiny,
Is Jesus,
The Faithful,
The True One.
If it is glorious
To think
Of the greatness
And pleasures
Found here,
What will it be like
To enjoy
The riches
That await
The redeemed there?
The attractions
Of this world
Cannot overshadow
That glory beyond.
Do you not long,
My friend,
To live
In that beautiful
Jerusalem?
