What joy I have now, heaven is mine,

Que alegria agora, é meu o céu,

For Jesus tore the sacred veil;

Pois Jesus rasgou o sagrado véu;

I shall no longer fear condemnation,

A condenação não mais temerei,

And I shall always praise my Redeemer.

E meu Redentor sempre louvarei.

There in heaven I shall rest

Lá no céu eu descansarei

With Jesus, our King;

Com Jesus, o nosso Rei;

Come to God, O sinner,

Vem a Deus, ó pecador,

For in heaven He awaits you with love.

Pois no céu te espera com amor.

Through the world I walked alone,

Pelo mundo eu solitário andei,

Outside of Sodom I beheld heaven,

Fora de Sodoma o céu avistei,

For I looked upward, to my Jesus,

Pois olhei pra cima, p’ra meu Jesus,

Who for me died upon the bloodstained cross.

Que por mim morreu na sangrenta cruz.

I am a soldier, ready to fight,

Eu sou um soldado pra combater.

And with God I shall overcome all evil;

E com Deus irei todo o mal vencer;

The banner is the blood of Jesus,

A bandeira é o sangue de Jesus,

Which for me was poured out there on the cross.

Que por mim vertido foi lá na cruz.

When one day I come to perish,

Quando um dia eu venha a perecer,

Yes, when my heart ceases to beat,

Sim, meu coração cesse de bater,

I shall rise to heaven, without any fear,

Subirei ao céu, sem nenhum temor,

Resting in the arms of the Lord.

Descansado nos braços do Senhor.
