Com ouro e prata não fui resgatado,

Earthly treasures never could set me free;

Tesouro terrestre, jamais me livrou;

The price was Christ's own blood, poured out for me

O preço foi o sangue de Cristo, manado

On Calvary's cross, where life began to shine.

Na cruz do Calvário onde a vida raiou!

Not by silver nor by gold

Por prata e ouro não fui remido,

Have I been redeemed,

Nem por tesouro de mui valor,

But by the blood that was shed

Mas pelo sangue que foi vertido

By Jesus, my Savior!

Por Jesus, meu Salvador!

Silver and gold had no value at all

O ouro e a prata valor, oh! não tinham

To satisfy God's righteous law;

Pra satisfazer a justiça de Deus.

But Christ has paid my every debt,

Mas Cristo pagou toda a dívida minha;

And filled my soul with love and peace from heaven.

Encheu-me de amor e de paz lá do céu.

Not by silver nor by gold could I approach

Por ouro e por prata não pude chegar-me

The presence of God and forgiveness obtain;

Diante de Deus e o perdão obter;

Through Christ's own blood I found the grace

Pio sangue de Cristo, eu pude lançar-me

And gladly received His divine favor.

Na graça divina e o favor receber.

Not by silver nor by gold have I been redeemed;

Por ouro e por prata não fui redimido;

Heaven's entrance cannot be bought;

A entrada do céu não se pode comprar;

But only through Christ's own precious blood,

Mas, só pelo sangue de Cristo vertido

Shed on the cross, shall we enter glory.
