Give me the Bible, which I so greatly desire;

Dai-me a Bíblia, que eu tanto anelo:

By its path I always want to walk.

Por seu caminho quero sempre andar.

Its words are the glad tidings

Por suas palavras são a grata nova

That Jesus Christ came to proclaim.

Que Jesus Cristo veio anunciar.

Give me the Bible, so precious a Book!

Dai-me a Bíblia, livro tão precioso!

Holy doctrine, a fountain of light.

Doutrina Santa: fonte é de luz.

Its teachings, like a glorious lighthouse,

E seus ensinos, qual farol glorioso,

Lead us to the Lord Jesus.

A nós conduzem ao Senhor Jesus.

Give me the Bible, for I need it,

Dai-me a Bíblia: dela eu preciso,

For it will set me free from sin;

Pois do pecado a mim vai livrar

Its words are so powerful

E suas palavras são tão poderosas,

That they can renew my soul.

Que minha alma podem renovar.

Give me the Bible! Let it be my guide,

Dai-me a Bíblia! Que meu guia seja!

My path and my light in this life!

E nesta vida meu caminho e luz!

And may its teachings, the sure direction,

E seus ensinos – o roteiro certo -,

Lead me to the good Jesus.

Que me conduzam para o bom Jesus.
