I Sought Perfect Peace - 566
Perfect peace I sought,
But I never found it,
For I was unwilling to pay the price.
Far from God I wandered,
Rejecting His promise,
Unwilling to turn away from sin.
But now I am living for Jesus;
I long to hide beside His cross.
Even though I suffer pain,
I want to be with my Jesus;
At last I have found life in my Lord.
While I was in prayer,
God touched my heart
And said to me,
“Place your life upon the altar
That I may sanctify you.”
Then I left my sin behind;
I immediately dedicated my life to God.
With His blood He purchased me,
He purified my whole being.
I found a life of victory.
“Your sins I have forgiven,
Because I loved you so much,”
The great King tenderly said to me.
