In fervent prayer, come and pour out your heart
Into the presence of God;
But you can only receive what you ask,
When you leave everything on the altar.
When everything is placed before the Lord,
And He has complete control of your life,
Then you will see that the Lord has power,
When you leave everything on the altar.
The Lord will perform wonders of love for you,
Answering the prayer that He accepts;
His mighty power will come to help you,
When you leave everything on the altar.
But if you pray without your heart
Having the peace that only the Lord can give,
It is because your soul has not fully opened to God,
Leaving everything, everything on the altar.
