I long for faith that's strong and true

Before the darkest fear,

That calmly never will retreat

From this alarming world.

A faith that will not make me complain

A fé que não me faz queixar

When discipline brings pain,

But as the fire burns more and more,

It strengthens still my heart.

A faith that ever brighter shines

A fé que sempre brilha mais

Within the darkest storm,

No negro furacão,

That finds true peace in every trial,
