I give thanks for this life,
For the good it has revealed.
I give thanks for the future,
And for all that has passed.
For the blessings poured out,
For the pain and the affliction,
For the grace revealed,
I give thanks for forgiveness.
Thanks for the blue sky above,
And for the clouds as well;
For the roses along the way,
And for the thorns they bear;
For the darkness of the night,
For the star that shone;
For the answered prayer,
For the dream that failed.
For the cross and the suffering,
And for every trial;
For love beyond measure,
For the peace within my heart;
For the tears that I have shed,
For the comfort beyond compare;
For the gift of eternal life,
I will always give thanks!
