The night has fled, the light now shines from heaven;
A mighty cry is heard: Prepare!
Christ is coming soon!
Like a mighty storm wind,
Roaring over the sea,
The message from heaven resounds;
Hear the glorious news that brings such joy:
"Christ is coming soon!"
O peoples, tribes, and nations,
Enslaved beneath the power of sin,
Prepare your hearts!
Oh, why do you delay?
Awake from death,
Let darkness and sin flee before the Light;
Soon we shall meet
Christ, who surely will come.
