Far from the Lord
I walked,
On a dreadful path;
I did not seek Jesus,
Nor did I desire
His love.
Oh, why does Jesus love me?
I cannot explain it!
But He also calls you,
Because He wants
To save you!
I never thought
About the judgment,
Nor about
My own destruction;
Nor did my soul
Desire
The eternal
Salvation.
Already weary
Of sin,
I came
To the feet
Of the Savior;
And there
My burden
Of sorrow and pain
Fell away.
How wonderful it is
To belong
To my Jesus!
To have His grace,
His rest,
And remain
At the foot
Of the cross!
