Behold, the voice of Christ is calling

Eis, a voz de Cristo clama,

Across the restless sea

Sobre o revoltoso mar

Of this dangerous life:

Desta vida perigosa:

“Come and find shelter in Me.”

"Vinde em Mim vos abrigar".

When long ago in Galilee

Quando outrora em Galiléia,

That gentle voice was heard,

Essa doce voz soou,

The listening heart

Logo, o coração ouvinte,

Immediately left everything behind.

Tudo, pronto, abandonou.

Above the voices that entice,

Sobre as vozes sedutoras,

With worldly attractions,

De mundanas atrações,

The gentle voice of Christ cries:

Clama a meiga voz de Cristo:

“Give Me your hearts!”

"Dai-me vossos corações!”

Whether in the midst of pleasures,

Quer no meio dos prazeres,

Or in the day of affliction,

Quer no dia da aflição,

He still patiently asks:

Inda clama, paciente:

“Do you love Me, O Christian?”

“Amas-Me tu, ó cristão?”

On the narrow and holy path,

Na vereda estreita e santa,

Already walked by Jesus,

Já pisada por Jesus,

He calls you to follow Him:

A segui-Lo, Ele te chama:

“Come, Christian, walk in the light!”

“Vem, cristão, andar na luz!”

From that painful cross,

Dessa cruz angustiosa,

Where His love shines,

Onde brilha Seu amor,

Hear the voice that invites you,

Ouve a voz que te convida,

Hear it and follow, sinner!

Ouve e segue, pecador!
