If you, my soul, plead with God,

Se tu, minh'alma, a Deus suplicas,

And do not receive, keep trusting

E não recebes, confiando fica

In His promises, which are very rich,

Em Suas promessas, que são mui ricas,

And unfailing to help you.

E infalíveis pra te valer.

Why are you cast down, O my soul?

Por que te abates, ó minha alma?

And why are you troubled, losing your peace?

E te comoves, perdendo a calma?

Do not be afraid, wait on God,

Não tenhas medo, em Deus espera,

For very soon, Jesus will come.

Porque bem cedo, Jesus virá.

He intercedes for you, my soul;

Ele intercede por ti, minh'alma;

Wait on Him with faith and calm;

Espera nEle, com fé e calma;

Jesus saves you from all your troubles,

Jesus de todos teus males salva,

And blesses you from the highest heavens.

E te abençoa, dos altos céus.

Soon your sorrows will be ended,

Terás em breve, as dores findas,

On the joyful day of His coming;

No dia alegre da Sua vinda;

If Christ delays, wait a little longer,

Se Cristo tarda, espera ainda

Just a little while, and you will see Him.
