There is One who watches the footsteps

Há quem vele as pisadas

That I take in shadow or light,

Que eu dou na sombra ou luz,

Along the steep pathways,

Pelas sendas escarpadas,

Jesus will watch over me;

Velará por mim Jesus;

Through the valleys, through the mountains,

Pelos vales, pelos montes,

His hand leads me;

Me conduz a Sua mão;

I can already see the horizons

Vejo já os horizontes

Of an everlasting home.

Duma perene mansão.

There is One who watches the footsteps,

Há quem vele as pisadas,

Who will trace my path;

Minha senda traçará;

To the heavenly dwellings,

Para as célicas moradas,

Yes, Jesus will guide me.

Sim, Jesus me guiará

There is a touch that reveals to me

Há contacto que m’explica

The presence of the Lord,

A presença do Senhor,

That purifies the stains

Que as manchas purifica

And frees me from fear;

E me livra de temor;

Christ, with His wounded hand,

Cristo com a mão ferida,

Can give me protection,

Proteção me pode dar,

When I see in this life

Quando vejo desta vida

The restless and mighty sea.

O inquieto e forte mar.

There is a loving heart,

Há um coração amante,

Of infinite compassion,

De infinita compaixão,

That grants constant peace

Que concede paz constante

To the contrite heart;

Ao contrito coração;

There is favor and freedom

Há favor e liberdade

In Jesus, the Savior,

Em Jesus, o Salvador,

Abundant grace and truth

Muita graça e verdade

And comforting power.

E poder consolador.
