A fé dos santos – 330

By the faith once delivered to all the saints,

Pela fé que uma vez foi entregue aos santos,

That comes through Jesus and wipes away our tears,

Que nos vem por Jesus, e nos seca o pranto,

Believers may, without the slightest fear,

Podem os crentes, sem ter nenhum espanto,

Follow in the footsteps of the Lord.

Prosseguir nas pisadas do Senhor.

In sorrow, in struggles, and in pain,

Nas tristezas, nas lutas, na dor,

They turned to precious Jesus;

Recorriam ao caro Jesus;

The Lord would give them victory,

A vitória lhes dava o Senhor,

Through the blood poured out on the cross.

Pelo sangue vertido na cruz.

Christians were judged by wicked courts,

Os cristãos foram por tribunais vis julgados,

Into prisons they were cast though innocent,

Nas prisões, inocentes, à força lançados,

And stripped of all their earthly goods,

E de seus bens terrestres despojados,

Yet joyfully they followed the Lord.

Mas alegres seguiram o Senhor.

As pilgrims, the saints walked through this world,

Peregrinos os santos no mundo andavam,

Taking refuge in the caves of the earth,

Nas cavernas da terra se refugiavam,

And there, gathered together, they worshiped

E ali reunidos, celebravam

Jesus, their beloved Savior.

A Jesus, seu amado Salvador.

It is by faith that we, believers, always must

Pela fé é que nós, crentes, sempre devemos

Stand firm in Jesus, and thus we shall overcome,

Nos firmar em Jesus e assim venceremos,

And one day, in heaven, we shall meet

E um dia, no céu encontraremos

The faithful ones who loved the Lord.

Os fiéis, que amaram o Senhor.

There in heaven we shall have no more pain,

Lá no céu não teremos mais dor,

And every tear will come to an end,

E o pranto ali há de findar,

When near our blessed Lord,

Quando perto do nosso Senhor,

Our souls shall finally rest.

Nossa alma, enfim, repousar.
