To heaven I am going, though the skies be cloudy;

Para o céu eu vou, embora, for nublado;

The path is sometimes full of thorns,

O caminho, às vezes, espinhoso está,

Yet by Jesus, my Master, always safely guided,

Por Jesus, meu Mestre, sempre bem guiado,

I follow in His footsteps until I arrive there.

Em Seus passos sigo, até que chegue lá.

Hallelujah! Toward heaven I am walking,

Aleluia! P’ro céu vou caminhando,

Nothing shall discourage me!

Nada me desanimará!

Nearer to heaven I am drawing,

Para o céu eu me vou aproximando,

Jesus will always lead me!

Sempre meu Jesus me guiará!

To heaven I am going, though I must keep fighting

Para o céu eu vou, ainda que lutando

Against temptations rising before me;

Contra tentações, que surgem ante mim:

Sheltered beneath the blood of Jesus,

Sob o sangue de Jesus me abrigando,

Hidden and completely safe, I remain.

Escondido e bem seguro, estou assim.

To heaven I am going, though I am very weary,

Para o céu eu vou, embora, mui cansado,

And old friends may turn away from me.

E amigos velhos, voltem-se pra trás.

Strong I walk with the Lord Jesus by my side,

Forte sigo co’o Senhor Jesus ao lado,

Inviting others to receive His peace.

Convidando a outros aceitar a paz.

To heaven I am going, joyfully walking:

Para o céu eu vou, alegre caminhando:

Soon my pilgrimage will end.

Breve findará a peregrinação,

Though I grow weary while walking through this world,

Se cansado, neste mundo vou andando,

I shall rest in the heavenly home.

Eu repousarei na divina! mansão.
