Happy are those who have heard
The joyful sound
Of the true salvation
Of our God.
For they have heard,
In a gentle voice,
The multitude
Singing there in heaven.
The children of God
Already rejoice,
Yet in heaven
They will have greater joy.
The joys of the Christian
Are only drops
From the sea of blessings
In Zion!
The springs of this world
Will finally dry up,
Leaving only dryness behind;
But the divine fountains
Are not like that,
For living waters
Will always flow.
Paul and Silas
Were in prison,
Their hands and feet
Fastened in the stocks;
Yet without complaining,
Even in prison,
They sang hymns
To the Lord with faith!
Behold Stephen,
Filled with great rejoicing,
Though he fell
Under a shower of stones;
For being full
Of the Holy Spirit,
He saw the Savior
At the right hand of God!
Many centuries
Have already passed
Since Stephen died
By faith;
But Jesus still gives
The same salvation
To all who believe
And remain faithful to God.
Like a little dove
In a heavenly song,
Our hearts praise,
“Hallelujah!”
If you ask,
“Where can I find the same?”
“At Golgotha,”
We will answer.
