A Mighty Fortress Is Our God,

Castelo forte é nosso Deus,

Our refuge and our strength.

Amparo e fortaleza:

With His power He defends His own

Com seu poder defende os seus

In battle and in weakness.

Na luta e na fraqueza.

Satan tempts us,

Nos tenta Satanás,

With relentless fury,

Com fúria pertinaz,

With cunning schemes

Com artimanhas tais

And cruel deceit,

E astúcias tão cruéis,

None on earth can compare.

Que iguais não há na Terra.

Our own strength can do nothing,

A nossa força nada faz:

Indeed, we would be lost.

Estamos, sim, perdidos.

But our God brings us help,

Mas nosso Deus socorro traz

And we are kept secure.

E somos protegidos.

Jesus defends us,

Defende-nos Jesus,

The One who conquered on the cross,

O que venceu na cruz

The Lord of highest heaven.

O Senhor dos altos céus.

And being God Himself,

E sendo também Deus,

He triumphs in the battle.

Triunfa na batalha.

Though countless demons

Se nos quisessem devorar

Should seek to devour us,

Demônios não contados,

They cannot make us fear,

Não nos podiam assustar,

Nor can they overcome us.

Nem somos derrotados.

The great accuser

O grande acusador

Of the servants of the Lord

Dos servos do Senhor

Has already been condemned.

Já condenado está:

Defeated, he will fall

Vencido cairá

By a single word.

Por uma só palavra.

We know with certainty

Que Deus a luta vencerá,

That God will win the battle,

Sabemos com certeza,

And nothing will make us afraid

E nada nos assustará

With Christ as our defender.

Com Cristo por defesa.

Though we should lose

Se temos de perder

Family, possessions, and power,

Família, bens, poder,

And even if life is taken,

E, embora a vida vá,

Jesus stands with us,

Por nós Jesus está,

And He will give us His kingdom.

E dar-nos-á seu reino
