Minha Pátria para Cristo!

This is my earnest prayer.

– Eis a minha petição.

My beloved homeland,

– Minha Pátria tão querida,

To thee I gave my heart.

Eu te dei meu coração.

Precious home, lovely home,

Lar prezado, lar formoso,

How deep is my love for thee.

É por ti o meu amor.

May my God of boundless grace

Que o meu Deus de excelsa graça

Pour His favor upon thee!

Te dispense seu favor!

God save my homeland,

Salve Deus a minha Pátria,

My noble homeland!

Minha Pátria varonil!

God save my native land,

Salve Deus a minha terra,

This land of Brazil!

Esta terra do Brasil!

With great joy I long to see

Quero, pois, com alegria,

My beloved nation blessed,

Ver feliz a mãe gentil,

As the Gospel wins the victory

Por vencer o Evangelho

Throughout the land of Brazil.

Nesta terra do Brasil.

Brave Brazilian people,

Brava gente brasileira.

Cast all fearful chains away;

Longe vá temor servil;

Either see our homeland saved,

Ou ficar a Pátria salva,

Or for Brazil give life today.

Ou morrer pelo Brasil.
