Of the Holy Spirit it is written,

Do Santo Espírito, está escrito,

That you are the temple, yes, God's temple;

Que sois o templo, sim, templo de Deus;

Have you received, after believing,

Já recebestes, depois que crestes,

The glorious gift sent down from heaven?

O dom glorioso descido do céu?

Let Him come in, to dwell within,

Deixai entrar, para morar,

The Spirit of God;

O Espírito de Deus;

The promised Gift, already given,

Dom prometido, já concedido,

The blessed Gift from heaven above.

Bendito dom dos altos céus.

The One who saves you also cleanses you,

O que vos salva, também vos lava,

To wash your soul from every stain;

P’ra vossa alma de manchas limpar;

Once purified from sinful evils,

Purificados de vis pecados,

The Holy Spirit may now come in.

O Santo Espírito já pode entrar.

O pilgrims, behold your destiny,

Ó peregrinos, vede o destino,

Enter the land of milk and honey;

Entrai na terra de leite e mel,

Sanctified, by God now called,

Santificados, por Deus chamados,

You shall be led by the faithful Guide.

Sereis guiados, por guia fiel.
