The rays of God's love

Os raios do amor de Deus,

Shone upon my soul,

Brilharam na minh’alma,

And I saw the end of my days,

E o fim eu vi dos dias meus,

And also the One who saves me;

Também Um que me salva;

I now have the light of heaven.

Eu tenho já do céu a luz.

I have been set free from darkness,

Das trevas fui liberto,

Now Christ leads me

Agora Cristo me conduz

Through the desert lands.

Nas plagas do deserto!

Your love, O Creator,

O Teu amor, ó Criador,

Was revealed there on the cross,

Se revelou ali na cruz.

When the One who saved me,

Quando expirou em meu lugar

My Jesus,

Quem me salvou: – o meu Jesus.

Died in my place.

Ao meu Jesus darei louvor,

I will give praise to my Jesus,

Pois hoje compreendo,

For today I understand

Que o amor do grande Redentor,

That the love of the great Redeemer

Vai tudo me provendo;

Provides all that I need;

Já dantes desta criação

Even before the creation,

Jesus me preparava

Jesus was preparing

A mais perfeita salvação;

The most perfect salvation for me.

Oh! Quanto a mim amava!

Oh, how He loved me!

O dom precioso de Jesus,

The precious gift of Jesus,

Oh! Deus, me revelaste!

O God, You revealed to me!

E Teu amor, celeste luz,

And Your love, heavenly light,

Em mim Tu derramaste!

You poured out upon me!

Quem medirá o amor de Deus,

Who can measure the love of God,

Tão santo, insondável,

So holy and unfathomable,

O qual enche os mais altos céus;

Which fills the highest heavens?

Amor inesgotável!

An inexhaustible love!
