Jesus said to His disciples, as He ascended from the mount:

Jesus disse aos discípulos, no monte, ao subir:

“Remain in Jerusalem, for soon shall be fulfilled

"Detei-vos em Jerusalém, pois há de se cumprir

The glorious coming of the Comforter,

A vinda gloriosa do Consolador,

To clothe the witnesses of the Lord with power.”

Pra revestir as testemunhas do Senhor".

The fire from the altar descended, the wind of love,

Descendo o fogo do altar, o vento de amor,

And quickly they went forth proclaiming the Savior.

Depressa foram proclamar o Salvador.

The upper room was filled with glorious light;

Encheu-se o cenác'lo de gloriosa luz;

The divine fire descended, and Jesus came to us.

Descendo o fogo divina!, a nós voltou Jesus.

And all, clothed with power from heaven,

E todos, revestidos com o poder do céu,

Spoke in other tongues in praise to God.

Falaram noutras línguas em louvor a Deus.

The people, amazed by the power from heaven,

O povo, assustado com o poder do céu,

Did not understand that this was what God had promised.

Não compreendeu que isto foi o que Deus prometeu.

But Peter proclaimed to them: “Thus says the Lord:

Mas Pedro lhes proclama: "Assim diz o Senhor:

In the last days, I will give you the Comforter.”

No fim dos dias, Vos darei Consolador".

So Jesus commands you to pray and wait

Assim Jesus te manda orar e esperar

For the Holy Spirit of God, who comes to teach you;

O Santo Espírito de Deus, que vem pra t’ensinar;

Jesus will send you the glorious anointing,

Jesus, a gloriosa unção, te mandará,

And you shall proclaim His sublime love.

E Seu amor sublime, proclamar irás.
